In case of an emergency, it is important to have a disaster plan in order to stay safe. Meet with your family to plan for disasters. You must know what to do in case of an emergency while you are at home, school, or away from home. Share responsibilities with family members and work together as a team. It is vital to have your own supplies as emergency officials may not be able to reach you for 48-72 hours. Keep your essential supplies in an easy to carry container, like a bookbag, in a convenient place. For more information, click here. build a kit
You may separate from your family or your community during or after a disaster. In case of a separation, you can also rely on nonprofit organizations and government agencies specializing in disaster relief for help. For more information, click here. plan a spot to meet
