RED CROSS HELPS BALTIMORE CITY VICTIMS OF EARLY MORNING FIRE

Baltimore - The American Red Cross of Central Maryland is assisting 17 victims of an early morning fire in East Baltimore. The fire affected three units on E. Biddle Street and forced the evacuation of 11 adults and 6 children. The Red Cross was on the scene before dawn providing emergency relief including food, blankets and shelter.

Red Cross volunteers and caseworkers will continue to follow-up with the displaced families until their immediate needs, including food, clothing, shelter and help with medication or eyeglass replacement, have been met.

Stats: For the month of January, the Red Cross of Central Md responded to 53 disasters ( 8 apartment fires and 45 single family home fires. )
